Buttermilk Onion rings. Take a purple onion, slice off the ends and skin, Slice the whole onion into 1/8" slabs. Separate the rings. Soak in Buttermilk for 3-5 hours. Pull the rings out and coat in seasoned flour. Deep fry at 350 until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. If they make it to the table, serve with anything you like.
Save the left over buttermilk and use it in your next biscuit recipe, the onion adds a great flavor. Enjoy.
